About Cholangiocarcinoma: Bile duct cancer, or cholangiocarcinoma, is a rare and aggressive cancer that forms in the thin tubes (bile ducts) that carry digestive fluid from the liver to the small intestine. It typically affects people over 50, often remaining undetected until advanced stages, when it causes symptoms like jaundice. About 15,000 people are diagnosed with this rare disease in the US every year and treatment often involves surgery, chemotherapy, or immunotherapy.
