This 54-year-old tradition of Webster, NY was started by Jim May, former English Teacher, in Webster. Jim May started this event as a practice run for his Cross Country Team, as a way for them to get a workout on Thanksgiving Day. As the years progressed, the event grew to what it is today. Jim May’s former Cross Country Runner and then multi year winner of Trot, Dave Boutillier, took over the reins of the race in the late 90′s under his Race Directing Company, YellowJacket Racing. Each year this race reminds Dave and many other former Webster residents of their youth and running the event annually. Strollers, Dogs, & Headphones are NOT permitted on course!! Please note: You must have a bib to participate. It is bad form and considered banditting if you do not have a bib. Please just don't do it. It puts the entire event, its insurances, permits and other athletes at risk. There is no day-of registration. Please plan accordingly. By registering for this event you are acknowledging that the date, time, location, and distance of the race may be changed, switched to virtual, or canceled at any time as deemed necessary by the Race Directors due to circumstances beyond their control. In the event that any of these scenarios happens or any other reason, there will be no refunds, transfers, or deferrals allowed unless otherwise stated.
