About this event
IRONMAN Texas — North American Championship
Race the flat, fast IRONMAN Texas course in The Woodlands, just north of Houston. This is the North American Championship, attracting top-tier professional and age group triathletes from across the continent.
SWIM (2.4 miles): Athletes take to the warm waters of Lake Woodlands for a two-loop swim course. The lake offers calm, freshwater conditions ideal for fast swim splits. Spectators can watch from the shores and bridges surrounding the lake.
BIKE (112 miles): The bike course heads north through the rolling terrain of Montgomery County on closed roads. The route passes through dense pine forests and rural Texas landscape on smooth, well-maintained roads. The course is relatively flat with a few rolling sections, making it one of the faster IRONMAN bike courses in North America. Aid stations are positioned every 10-15 miles with hydration, nutrition, and mechanical support.
RUN (26.2 miles): The run course is a three-loop, spectator-friendly route through The Woodlands Town Center and along the waterway. Runners pass through the Market Street shopping district, Waterway Square, and shaded residential neighborhoods. The flat course and enthusiastic crowd support make it an ideal venue for marathon personal bests.
The Woodlands offers world-class hospitality with hotels, restaurants, and entertainment within walking distance of the race venue. The event weekend includes an IRONMAN Village expo, athlete briefing, practice swim, and welcome banquet. IRONMAN Texas serves as a key qualifying race for the IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
