Race the fast, flat IRONMAN California course in Sacramento, the capital of the Golden State. Set along the beautiful American River, this course offers ideal conditions for fast racing.

SWIM (2.4 miles): A point-to-point downstream swim in the American River. The river current assists athletes, resulting in some of the fastest swim splits in IRONMAN racing. The freshwater swim starts near the historic Folsom area and finishes at a designated transition area along the river parkway.

BIKE (112 miles): The bike course heads through the agricultural heartland of Northern California's Central Valley. Flat, fast roads through farmland and small towns offer unobstructed views and minimal traffic. The course is one of the flattest in IRONMAN racing, with total elevation gain under 1,500 feet. Well-stocked aid stations line the route.

RUN (26.2 miles): The run course follows the beautiful American River Parkway — one of the premier urban trail systems in the United States. Athletes run along tree-lined paths beside the river, through shaded parks, and past historic landmarks. The out-and-back course provides multiple spectator viewing opportunities.

Sacramento's farm-to-fork culinary scene, craft breweries, and vibrant downtown make for an excellent race weekend destination. October weather provides ideal racing temperatures in the mid-60s to 70s°F.
