About this event
Join us from anywhere in the world for the Tough Genes DNA Dash 5K! This event allows supporters, families, and advocates to come together to raise awareness and funding for ultra-rare genetic disorders, no matter where they are! A virtual 5K means you can complete the 3.1 miles in a way that works for you. Run, walk, roll, bike, or hike your distance wherever and whenever you choose on or before September 26th 2026. Hit the road in your neighborhood, find a scenic trail, hop on a treadmill, or gather friends and family for your own local mini-event. Participants are encouraged to share their experience on social media, wear their Tough Genes gear, and help spread awareness. Send us your photos and they could be featured on Tough Genes social media! Every step taken helps bring visibility to families navigating ultra-rare diagnoses and supports the mission of Tough Genes to translate research to treatment options for IRF2BPL-Related Disorder (NEDAMSS). Together, we can turn miles into momentum for the rare disease community. Every registered participant will be sent a discount code for $10 off an order in the Tough Genes store. It’s our way of helping you gear up, show your support, and stay connected to the mission long after race day. CLICK HERE FOR GEAR!
