Run, walk, or stroll through the City of Newburgh in Safe Harbors’ annual 5K! With a course that features the incredible architecture of Newburgh’s historic district and stunning Hudson River views, this community-centered race is fun for runners and non-runners of all ages. The Safe Harbors 5K is part of Spring Into Newburgh, a city-wide celebration of the season featuring the Art on the Block outdoor art market, Newburgh Farmers’ Market, and Wellness Shines on the Green, a festival highlighting local wellness vendors and free fitness classes throughout the day. Come for the run and stay for the fun! Registration Adults (19+): $35 in advance, $45 at eventYouth 18 and Under: Free! Register by April 23 and receive a complimentary, limited edition 2026 Safe Harbors 5K shirt designed by Newburgh artist Steven Ciancanelli. Choose between a lightweight, moisture-wicking race shirt or a jersey cotton tank. For participants who register after April 23, shirts are subject to availability on the day of the race. Safe Harbors operates the Cornerstone Residence, which provides supportive housing for 128 neighbors; the Ann Street Gallery, a contemporary visual arts venue; Safe Harbors Green, a vital green space and outdoor stage; and the Ritz Theater, Newburgh's last surviving historic theater, which Safe Harbors of the Hudson is in the multi-phase process of redeveloping into a center for performances and community.
