Run the Course 5k

This isn’t your typical flat Florida pavement pounder; instead, you’ll trade the asphalt for the rolling, emerald fairways of the historic 1917 El Campeon golf course. As you navigate the pristine Florida wilderness, you'll challenge yourself against rare 85-foot elevation changes and undulating terrain that has tested golf legends for over a century. The journey winds through a breathtaking landscape of ancient oaks and scenic vistas, culminating in a triumphant finish through the heart of the Mediterranean-style resort. Whether you’re a competitive runner or looking for a scenic morning stroll, this event offers a unique chance to "run the course" and immerse yourself in the natural beauty and history of Howey-in-the-Hills. Runners can also take on the 2026 Two Course Challenge by participating in Run the Resort on Labor Day Weekend and Run the Course in the spring.
