Spartan Race comes to Porter Farms in Concord, North Carolina with Sprint (5K, 20 obstacles) and Super (10K, 25 obstacles) distances.

THE OBSTACLES: Spartan races feature 20-30 signature obstacles designed to test grip strength, endurance, agility, and mental toughness. Expect rope climbs, 8-foot walls, barbed wire crawls, atlas stone carries, spear throws, bucket brigades, monkey bars, the Herc Hoist, the Z-Wall traverse, and the iconic fire jump at the finish line. Fail an obstacle? 30 burpees is the penalty.

THE COURSE: The natural terrain at Porter Farms provides hills, mud, trails, and varied ground surfaces. The course designers use the landscape to create a challenging route that combines obstacle racing with trail running.

RACE CATEGORIES: - Open Heat: For all fitness levels. Walk, run, or crawl — just finish. - Age Group Heat: Competitive timing and podium placements by age group. - Elite/Competitive Heat: For serious OCR athletes chasing trifectas and rankings. - Kids Race: 1-mile and 1/2-mile courses for ages 4-13.

All finishers receive an iconic Spartan medal, finisher t-shirt, and free post-race beer (21+). Complete a Sprint, Super, and Beast in the same year to earn the coveted Spartan Trifecta medal.
