Billy Schmidt Memorial 5k

Billy Schmidt was a beloved son, brother, grandson, family member, and friend whose life was tragically cut short on June 6, 2026. Billy had a way of bringing people together with his kindness, loyalty, and contagious smile. One of his sister Anna's favorite memories was running a 10K together in Philadelphia on April 5, 2026. Although Billy could have easily finished much faster, he chose to stay by her side for every mile, encouraging her until they crossed the finish line together. That memory perfectly reflects the kind of person Billy was always putting others before himself. To honor Billy's life and continue sharing the joy they experienced that day, we are proud to host the inaugural Billy Schmidt Memorial 5K. The race will be held on August 15, just three days before what would have been Billy's 23rd birthday. We chose to hold the event down the shore in Margate because the beach was Billy's happy place, where he made countless memories with family and friends and where he always felt most at home. We hope you'll join us as we celebrate Billy's birthday and keep his spirit alive, one step at a time.
